- Botanical name: Jasminum grandiflorum / Jasminum officinale / Jasminum grandiflorum
- Family: Oleaceae
- Origin: Originally from China and Northern India, brought to Spain by the Moors and the Mediterranean with France, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, China, Japan and Turkey producing the best essential oil now.
- Characteristics: it has a sweet, exotic, heady, long-lasting and rich floral smell. The oil is deep orange-brown in colour
- Blends well with: Bergamot, German and roman Chamomile, Citronella, Clary sage, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Thyme, Rosemary, Rosewood, Ylang-Ylang
- Common Uses:
- Jasmine is well known as a hormonal balancer and is effective in the treatment of post-natal depression, smooth menstrual pain
