- Origin: Widely cultivated in southern China
- Characteristics: It is derived by steam distillation of its leaves and twigs
- Blends well with: Black pepper, caraway, chamomile, coriander, frankincense, ginger, geranium, nutmeg, rosemary
- Common Uses:
- Similar with cinnamon, mainly for digestive complaint
- Flatulence, dyspepsia, colic, diarrhoea and nausea.

- Effective against viral infections
- Protects and against microbial infection
- Precautions:
(a) Do not use on sensitive and irritant skin
(b) Do not apply in mucus membrane
