2. Family: Cupressaceae (Coniferae)
3. Origin: Tree/leaves/core – Mediterranean
4. Characteristics: It has a smoky, sweet-balsamic odor a woody, slightly spicy and refreshing masculine smell.
5. Blends well with: Cedarwood, Pine, Lavender, Mandarin, Clary sage, Lemon, Juniper, Bergamot, Orange, Marjoram and sandalwood.
6. Common Uses:

• Cypress oil has astringent and vaso-constrictor properties, which are beneficial for circulatory problems such as varicose veins and hemorrhoids, excellent for excessive discharge of fluid.
• It has antispasmodic properties being useful for asthma, whooping cough and all spasmodic coughing.
• Cypress has a regulating effect on the menstrual cycle. It stimulates estrogen secretion, promoting and increasing the periods. It helps relieve painful periods and reduces abnormally heavy blood loss.
• Cypress helps to reduce excessive perspiration of feet
• Cypress strengthens an overburdened nervous system and restores calm, cleansing the spirit and removing psychic blocks.
