  2. Family: Lamiaceae
  3. Origin: It is native to Southern Europe and is cultivated in the Mediterranean region, Russia, USA, England, Morocco and Central Europe.
  4. Characteristics: A clear to pale yellow in color with sweet, nutty fragrance, somewhat herbaceous aroma
  5. Blends well with: Citrus oils, Juniper, Lavender, Pine, Geranium, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Frankincense
  6. Common Uses:
  • Clary sage has antispasmodic and emmenagogue properties make it useful for helping with uterine problems such as easing pre menstrual syndrome, regulating scanty periods and easing painful cramps in the lower back
  • It is useful during menopause when symptoms such as hot flushes, dizziness, headaches, nigh sweats
  • Clary sage may also be useful for treating asthma as it both relaxes spasm of the bronchial tubes and helps with the anxiety and emotional tension often found in asthma sufferers.
  • Clary sage is extremely valuable oil for treating nervousness, weakness, fear and depression. It helps reduce deep-seated tension, yet remain, stimulating, regenerative and revitalizing.
  • It ideally used in hair care, it may be used to clear greasy hair and dandruff by reducing excessive production of sebum.

    • Do not use when consuming alcohol is needed, since it could exaggerate the effects of alcohol
